Dave Joanis cruised through his heats on Friday night, lined up his Royal Distributing/DRIFT Racing/Arctic Cat in the front row for the final and on green grabbed a massive holeshot. Joanis took the lead and set the pace for the first couple laps of the 20-lap main. When it all shook out, Joanis crossed the line in third place, taking his first podium of the season. He leaves Fargo 6th in Pro Open points, just 17 points behind second place.
"I am beyond pumped on this podium finish," said Joanis. "I can't thank my team and my crew enough. They worked really hard to put my Royal Distributing Arctic Cat at the front."
DOC360/DRIFT Racing/Arctic Cat Logan Christian on Friday had impressive runs in both rounds of the qualifying then launched off the line with a great start in the main. Christian slotted into the lead pack of riders and moved into 4th place, a step off the podium. Christian entered Saturday with great momentum but unfortunate on track incidents plagued his day and he ended the night with a 12th place finish in the final.
"Our crew has our Arctic Cat snowmobiles working awesome," said Logan Christian. "We will keep working over the break and looking to be on the podium at Canterbury in a couple weeks."
Rookie Pro Lite racer Tyler Adams continues to climb the ladder in what, for the former Sport class standout, is a faster and more competitive class. Adams transferred through the LCQ during Friday nights' racing finishing 11th in the final. The next day he went 1-2 in heats and looked like a favorite to win the main before a rough start and then an off about halfway into the race dropped him to 14th place.
"The track was tough and you really had to hit your marks or it would bite you" said Adams. "We had the speed, we just didn't get the breaks we needed. Those will come though and we're looking forward to the next National in Shakopee, Minnesota, in a few weeks."
The team gave away its second of five Arctic Cat ZR 120 snowmobiles at the Fargo event. This weekends' winner was three-year-old Gavin Belich from Duluth, MInnesota. Gavin had asked Santa for a new snowmobile and spent most of the weekend hanging around the Christian Brothers Racing merchandise trailer playing on the giveaway sled that was on display. Well, Santa must have heard you Gavin because he delivered!
Joanis Lands Podium Finish at Fargo For Christian Brothers Racing
Fertile, Minn. (December 16, 2014) - It might be December, but very March-like weather greeted the Christian Brothers Racing team this past weekend for rounds 3 and 4 of the ISOC National Snocross Series. Spring-like temperatures turned the snocross track of ISOC U.S. Air Force National, held at the Buffalo River Race Park in Glyndon, Minnesota just outside Fargo, North Dakota into a wet, mushy mess for the competitors.
